S.K.U.L.L. is a German founded biologics and pharmaceutical company that specializes in developing drugs and new surgical procedures in line with human super-evolution. Their title, S.K.U.L.L., is an anagram representative of a classic German poem, the focus of which is the possibility that humans ought to strive for the highest forms of natural evolution. The organization believes in their task so wholeheartedly that they have no qualms with progressing human nature along unnatural lines by use of unusual methods. By proxy, they believe that some people are unfit to live in a standard state and are to evolve voluntarily to greater stage or die in the process.

Placed solidly in an economic and medical playing field, S.K.U.L.L. is known for having several connections to other groups and organizations for mutually beneficial reasons. Due to the controversial nature of their company goals, however, they were previously excised from all “humane” corporations and forced to partner with more fringe organizations, seen most recently as the likes of the Nitro syndicate and Trinity Alpha Initiative.

Off the radar of most state, federal, and private sectors, S.K.U.L.L. is well known for their stringent and recycled funding, use of self-made facilities, and resourceful adaptiveness. While not condoned by most mainstream medical and federal agencies, S.K.U.L.L. does still adhere to their own strict moral code, only working with volunteers and not typically hiring outside of their own organization. Because of their caution in walking such a fine line, S.K.U.L.L. has been allowed to continue operations discreetly in a handful of states in America under the guise of Bluebird Pharmaceuticals.

Several years after their original establishment in the early 2000’s, S.K.U.L.L. (Captain Decker specifically) became a founding member of the Blue Market, a private corporate sector tailoring only to exclusive agencies and persons. By way of the Blue Market, S.K.U.L.L. was able to collogue with and directly assist several terrorist and criminal organizations such as the aforementioned Nitro and Trinity Alpha organizations, as well as the Black Cross unit. After their participation was uncovered by the U.S. government, S.K.U.L.L. became a designated target of the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. Association. In light of this, S.K.U.L.L. proceeded to organize a de facto military guard to persist against government intervention and help plow ahead with their ambitions.

S.K.U.L.L. continues their work in both combat, corporate, and medical fields. Recently they’ve expanded their study roster to include research topics such as genetics, epigenetics, metacognition, psychology, and chromosome study. While selling their research to fellow members of the Blue Market and the highest bidders, S.K.U.L.L. also uses the advancements to upgrade and enhance members of their own organization.

Prominent Members

Captain Decker

Known as the head of both the S.K.U.L.L. combat and science divisions (hence his nickname “Cranium”), this masked leader has proved a formidable opponent to the federal government and A.R.C.H.E.R.S. Association. With remarkable strength and strategic capabilities, Decker seems a natural at urban and guerilla warfare. His forte lies in his ability to read enemies, and physically it’s clear that he’s been altered by S.K.U.L.L. bioenhancements and steroids. His dedication to the cause is second to none, and he leads with a fair if not merciless hand.

Godmother

Phaedra Adonis Vova-Maxell is to date the only S.K.U.L.L. augmented soldier who didn’t volunteer. Taken against her will, she was put through several comprehensive surgeries to increase her innate strength, agility, and healing factor. After losing one daughter to S.K.U.L.L. in a violent scuffle, her other remaining daughter is held hostage to blackmail Phaedra into cooperation as she assists S.K.U.L.L.’s combat division. Her usefulness is thought to lie in her experience with guerilla warfare during her time in the East Ukrainian wars, though A.R.C.H.E.R.S. suspects additional underlying factors involved with her involuntary recruitment.

Prominent Experiments

Project Apocalypse

Thomas Fleck volunteered for treatment for his degenerative heart disease under Bluebird Pharmaceuticals. What he didn’t sign up for was the memory wiping and biomechanical enhancements that followed his treatment. While his disease was eradicated, he gained several superhuman abilities including levitation, extreme strength, and a ludicrous healing factor. When he woke up in the middle of his procedure high out of his mind, Thomas proceeded to storm out of the laboratory and rampage across the town of Wolfeboro, resulting in one of the largest manmade disasters in the twenty-first century. Eventually, with some help from his previous fiancĂ©e Dana Shepard, Thomas calmed down, and the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. Association was able to give him the help he needed.
