“We chart the stars and all their light throughout the oceans of space; we note their life and death and the burning in-betweens; we see the worlds spinning in their place, held aloft by time immortal.”

~Shasta, Daughter of Crono, World Mapper

From the familiar blue world of Earth to the far off realms of Lauria and Saron, every time corresponds to a place. From the smallest towns like Wolfeboro to the grandest cities like Dover; here you’ll find a comprehensive guide to all the notable destinations across the Timberverse.

Earth

Let’s begin with the most essential place in the cosmos: Earth. Also known as the First World and the Elusive Blue, Earth is home to the human race and considered centermost in the Timberverse.

Destinations of Earth:

Wolfeboro

The humble tourist town of Wolfeboro became ground zero for the Hero Wars when resident Jace Orekin woke up with supernatural powers along with the arrival of the mysterious Death Herald. Warranting investigation from authorities due to the growing conflicts, Wolfeboro rapidly developed from a secluded lakeside getaway into a sprawling and dynamic urban battleground throughout the twenty-first century.

City of Dover

Always a formidable metropolis, Dover became a hotspot for superhuman activity when it became the first Earth location in centuries to receive alien visitors in the form of the Laurian Malains. In light of this and the formation of the Xero Squadron, the otherworldly Maloury forces began a series of hostile incursions, drawing the attention of the world as they fought for control of the dangerous Corestone technology.

Rochester

Far less glamourous than its sister cities, Rochester drew the unwanted attention of the authorities after vigilantes like Mortem and anomalies like the Stalker began roaming the streets. Already a notable spot for gangs and illegal activity, Rochester became a breeding ground for crime and conflict once crime syndicates like Nitro moved in to stake a claim.

The Serpent

The Serpent is a massive underground prison system located on the eastern seaboard. Designed specifically to house super-criminals such as the Death Herald and various S.K.U.L.L. super-soldiers, the Serpent is comprised of two wings (the north and south wings) and a deep storage center. To date, the facility has only ever once been infiltrated by the Black Cross-S.K.U.L.L. collude to free the Death Herald during the lead up to the Bloodmoon event.

Area 281-01

Located in the remote wilderness of the Colorado mountains, Area 281 acts as a massive warehouse and study center of supernatural and unnatural phenomena. Notably overseen by Lieutenant General David Spencer-Holmes, Area 281 contains abnormalities such as the Introspective Chamber, Gentex Lab’s failed Void Project, remnants of the 31st Abnormality, and was the planned research center for Project Apocalypse experiments.

Otherworlds

Lauria

Also known as Laurina and considered the “Second Earth,” Lauria is home to the Malain and Exogon species. Through extreme conflict and adaptation, the residents of the world became fierce space navigators and explorers, even going as far as to touch and control the universal Ether force, which allowed them to cross galaxies instantaneously. Members of the Old Laurian Guard and Maloury forces notably reached Earth in the early twenty-first century, resulting in the First Maloury Incursion.

Saron

Known famously as the Fifty-Second world of the universe, Saron hosts members of the human, Temwolveri, Cronozearian, and Archangelic races. With most of the world’s surface having collapsed into desolate wastelands centuries ago, the four races battled for dominance over the remaining hospitable land and resources, a struggle that culminated in the full expulsion and near genocide of the Archangel people. Now settled in an era of uneasy peace, the humans and Temwolveri of the world attempt to carry on with normal life as the Cronozears try desperately to reconnect with the rest of the universe, charting it as they once did.

Destinations of Saron:

The Ten Realms

The only oasis amid an otherwise hostile sandscape, the Ten Realms of Saron house a wide variety of biomes and ecosystems, as well as the mystical Skylands, a series of floating landmasses where the Archangelic race once dwelled. The crowning jewel of the country is the Maker’s Mountain. Also called Libertas, the cave-ridden cliffs are home to the world-charting Cronozears and the Tranquility, a natural well of Ethereal energy that connects Saron to every other planet in the universe.

Ralakade

Said to reside deep in the earth of Saron, Ralakade is a massive cavern containing the Exdeva, a race of rotted and malicious Archangels. A prison realm, Ralakade sports eternal twilight, coarse dirt, and treacherous pitfalls across its landscape. While several argue as to the origin of the realm and whether they it was created naturally or not, the inhospitableness of the terrain has clearly left inhabitants scarred in more than just physical ways.

Sylar

A harsh world, Sylar exists solemnly on the edge of the known universe. Home to the warfaring Chirotonian race, it acted as a launch point for their attempted cosmic conquest centuries ago. Driven back to it after horrendous defeat, however, Sylar is now considered a planetary prison, keeping its ancient occupants locked away until they might again rise.

Cosmic Forces

The Ether

Also known as the Aether, the Ether is a cosmic web of infinite data and energy capable of folding spacetime and bypassing natural law. Comprised of ley lines that span the universe, some places considered “Ether rich” are subject to time dilation and spatial distortion, while those considered “Ether barren” are wearily seen as stranded dead zones. The Cronozears of Saron used it as a bridge between the worlds while the Malains harnessed its power to create the Corestone weapons.

The Nether

In direct contrast to the Ether, the Nether is a cosmic ocean of negative energy and paradoxical conundrum. Where the Ether is a bridge, the Nether is the water flowing under it; more voluminous and powerful, but uncontrollable and chaotic. The Cronozearian and Archangelic races of Saron rarely used the Nether as a passageway into the forsaken realm of Ralakade, whereas those dubbed the Void Lords walk in its depths untouched by light.
