The Technically Advanced Research Regarding Greater Extra-Terrestrial Threats or T.A.R.R.G.E.T.T. Agency resulted from a hostile encounter with the Artilleon species, who had scouted Earth as a colony world during the late twentieth century. The purpose of the initiative was to research and develop technologies and procedures capable of deterring and surviving potential extraterrestrial threats. Starting as a series of failsafe procedures developed by the U.S. Department of Defense and D.A.R.P.A., the Initiative eventually took on a life of its own as the T.A.R.R.G.E.T.T. agency directed by Elizabeth Donovan.

Director Elizabeth Donovan

Former Military investigator Elizabeth Donovan was among the first to contact the hostile Artilleon species during their reconnaissance of Earth. Working with the Artilleon agent Moss M’rog, Elizabeth helped to successfully deter the potential invasion. After a full investigation into the invasion incident, Elizabeth was contacted by the Archer for her recruitment into the burgeoning T.A.R.R.G.E.T.T. Agency. She was appointed director of the agency shortly after its creation.
