The Temwovleri, more commonly called the Chasers, are the descendants of the the Wolf Goddess Shasta. Shasta’s origin is unknown, and while most view her as only a mythological figure, the Temwovleri worship her, or at least see her as a historical figure. The Temwovleri built a mighty nation for themselves, and their capital, Temwar, was once the greatest city of Saron. But after their nation crumbled, the Temwolveri struggled to even survive, their glory and honor forgotten.

The Temwolveri built their capital of Temwar amidst the Great Plains, about two-hundred miles southeast of the Ten Realms of Saron. The fertile soil of the Great Plains produced crops aplenty, and the caverns beneath the fields held a multitude of precious gemstones and ores. The Temwolveri established a trading route with the Ten Realms, and stories of their splendor and power spread far and wide.
But after Lukas rebelled, the world changed. The Great Plains died up and water sources diminished. The Temwolveri were forces to leave their home and march the many long miles to Saron. Those who stayed in hopes of curing the land soon died.
One scholar, an unknown Temwolveris, began a book recording the history of the Temwolveri. This book would come to be called the Wolf’s Tongue, and some future scholars would continue its records.
“The Grasslands began to dry, and become decrepit. When the state of the land was no longer hospitable, the Temwolveri packed what possessions they had, and traveled to Saron. This act was the Great Wolf Caravan, which transpired in the thirteenth year of the reign of Queen Seta, fifth queen of the Temwovleri.
“When the Temwolveri entered Saron, the humans did not take pity on them. Queen Seta and her family were treated fairly, but, the rest of the refugee nation of the Temwolveri were cast out, and shunned. When Queen Seta saw how her people were being treated, she demanded that the people of Saron change their ways, and embrace their newcomers. The people ignored the queen’s request. Queen Seta took matters into her own hands, and ordered an elite squad of Temwolveri to assassinate people of high importance, to send a message to the people of Saron. This elite squadron called themselves the Chasers.” -The Wolf’s Tongue

Ferris, a Temwolveri lieutenant during the Betrayal War
All Temwolveri would come to be called Chasers, and the reputation of dangerous killers was branded upon them with the name. For nigh six-hundred-years the Chasers pleaded with the humans and Cronozears to be accepted into society, but their pleas were never heard.
Eventually the Chasers were brought together by a man wearing a ram’s skull as a mask. This masked man promised that should the Chasers follow his commands he would lead them to freedom. The Chasers did as they were told, tired of the many years of inaction. The Betrayal War began, the Chasers on one side and the humans and Cronozears on the other. Saron had already been crippled by the Great War, and the Betrayal War would either be a new beginning, or a final end.

The man in the ram’s skull
The Betrayal War only further damaged the Chasers’ reputation, but afterwards the Cronozears did give their consent for the Temwolveri to be allowed basic freedoms. The Chasers rebuilt and old northern mining colony into a great city. This city would come to be called Temlar, the new capital of the new Temwolveri empire. Over time the Temwolveri’s reputation would heal, and them and the humans would grow close.
The story of the Temwolveri people proves that even the deepest wounds can heal.
