The Blue Market

During the Syndication Era, criminals Copycat, Captain Decker, Captain Evolution, Issachar Nitrovar, and the Death Herald congregated to discus the possibility of creating a mutually beneficial trade network between active parties. Due to the rising support and infrastructure of heroes as well as the additional funding of the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. Association, resources such as weapons, drugs, and various liquid assets were becoming harder to traffic, with even local outsources to the black market becoming unreliable. The final straw came with the advent of the Maloury during the First Malourian Incursion. With the world turning over sideways due to the revelation of alien life, the need for stable resources and transport of said resources became undeniable. Thus was spawned the concept of the Blue Market.

With technical and tangible infrastructure installed by Copycat and Electron, the heads of S.K.U.L.L., the Black Cross, and the Nitro Syndicate agreed to proceed with the creation of a new and secure trade network, capable of accessing and distributing weapons, currency, and information from party to party. Captain Evolution became a forerunner and enforcer for the market at large while Copycat took on a personal responsibility to manage and archive the transfers. Since its inception, the only non-founding member of the Blue Market to eventually gain access to the resources was Richard Sycle, the Weaponizer.

Prominent Members

Captain Decker

The head of S.K.U.L.L.’s combat and research divisions, Captain Decker is renowned for his strength, strategic prowess, and adaptability. As a founding member of the Blue Market, his chief concern was the reliable transportation of weapons and medical supplies necessary to keep S.K.U.L.L. operations up and running. In return, he offered other members vital biological research and the results of several S.K.U.L.L. experiments. Contractual favors between S.K.U.L.L. and the Nitro Syndicate had been going on for several years by the time the Blue Market formed, making the network a sort of natural evolution of the relationships that had already existed.

Maverick, the Death Herald

Founder and leader of the Black Cross, the terrorist and religious fanatic known as the Death Herald helped start the Blue Market as a means to give his faction reliable access to advanced munitions and weaponry. He offered contractual services of his members in return. Though a founding member, Maverick kept his distance from the market as he didn’t rely too heavily on the resources and services that other members provided. Instead, he tended to use the Blue Market as a telegram system to stay in covert contact with other members. Weaponizer and Copycat learned from his example and soon streamlined the communication lines between members.

Issachar Nitrovar

Founder of the Nitro Syndicate, Issachar Nitrovar has spent his life making series after series of calculated gambles. He made his way into underground crime rings and made a name for himself as a smuggler and contraband manufacturer, dealing at first with narcotics and weaponry and later just firearms. He established a contract with S.K.U.L.L. which was later the foundation for the Blue Market as a whole.

Copycat

A technology genius with a pension for human interaction, Copycat helped found the Blue Market merely as a way to extend his personal network of information and access several otherwise covert databases (such as those under Captain Decker’s protection). Copycat wound up working closely with Captain Evolution as sort of supervisor for his field work for the group. Though dedicated to the cause, Copycat’s interest in the group has remained almost exclusively financial.

Captain Evolution

Captain Dustin Evo, previously of the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. Association, suffered after abusing Project Maris and attempting to inoculate himself with an unstable biological serum. In a delusional haze he ended up striking Richard Koracar, disabling him, but evaded charges due to his past with military and government affairs. After a close run-in with death, S.K.U.L.L. revived Evo’s body and ambitions by offering him a position as a strategic consultant and augmented enforcer. Evo (going by the codename Captain Evolution) proved to be an invaluable asset to the Blue Market, especially during their attack on the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. headquarters. He’s since assisted the various organizations as field operative, informational gatherer, and analog network communicator.
