The Maloury is a rebel cabal which splintered from the old Laurian Guard originating from the planet Lauria during the Sivilence Wars. Separated into three divisions, each led by an ordained high general of the faction, the Maloury primarily seek to unify the artifacts known as the Corestones and use their power to reshape reality and bring peace to the known universe. Though their objective began only with the planet Lauria, contact with other worlds such as Modonou and Earth prompted the faction to widen their horizons.

Foundation

The earliest years of the Maloury faction are steeped in mystery and turmoil, reduced to theory and gossip after several testaments and informational files were destroyed during the Sivilence Wars. High general Xiuhcoatl confirmed that the faction began along with the Corestone Project in the heart of the Laurian Guard and Excellators. Once tests revealed how powerful the Corestones were and their potential to alter states of mater, energy, and plasma, a singular being known as the Divine Storm organized a coup and seized half the Corestones for their personal use. The other Corestones escaped his grasp and were smuggled off-world by Laurian Guard Valarico Gideon.

The First Division of the Maloury chased Valarico through space-time to Earth, where Valarico then hid the Cores among the humans. The Maloury set up a forward operating base within Luna’s LaGrange point and later moved to forcefully seize the remaining Corestones in an event known as the First Malourian Incursion. After the attack failed, the Maloury retreated to Luna’s LaGrange point where they opted to lay low and recoup.

Prominent Members

High General Xiuhcoatl

Once a member of the Laurian Guard and Excellators, Xiuhcoatl helped develop the Corestones and their abilities. In the latter years of the Sivilence Wars, he joined the burgeoning Maloury faction in secret and later betrayed his comrades for the Divine Storm. Rewarded (or cursed) with the Corestone of Mutation for his efforts, he transformed into the monstrous Xiuhcoatl. Driven mad by the power and its effects, he returned to his home after the Maloury’s coup and slaughtered his wife, Moirah. After regaining his sanity, Xiuhcoatl fled his tattered life and pledged his fealty in its entirety to the Divine Storm and the Maloury cause. Crowned First High General of the Maloury ranks, Xiuhcoatl was tasked with leading the First Maloury Division after former comrade Valarico Gideon to secure the remaining Corestones. Xiuhcoatl failed his initial mission, and set up the faction’s first forward operating base in Luna’s LaGrange point in order to retrieve the Cores at a later date. He led the unsuccessful First Malourian Incursion and later opted to stay hidden in Luna’s orbit while recouping losses.

Commander Vadari

Vadari began as a fledgling member of the Laurian Guard tasked with local affairs during the Sivilence Wars. During the Malourian coup, he sided with the Divine Storm and proved his merit through extermination of the Excellators and seizure of their data files and technology. Quickly advancing to the rank of Commander, Vadari oversaw operations in the First Division and became General Xiuhcoatl’s right-hand, and often maintained positive relations between weary members of his crew and their ruthless leader. Commander Vadari joined Xiuhcoatl on Earth’s surface during the First Malourian Incursion, earning yet another promotion that solidified his rank as highest in the order barring the Generals and Divine Storm themselves.
